Monthly Meeting 6/9/2020

1st Order of Business:

2nd Order of Business:

Treasurer’s report. We are maintaining equilibrium despite current circumstances. Link below.

3rd Order of Business:

Discussed the pros and cons of continuing to operate the space.

4th Order of Business:

Discussed election option. Membership is encouraged to provide feedback before June 23. The options are as follows and other ideas are accepted.

Option 1  – We abide by 6.3 and decide on which date to vote this June.

Option 2  – The Board declares the current time “An Extenuating Circumstance” and declares a date for the next election in the next two months.

Option 3 – The Board utilizes its voting power (7.6) and votes to keep itself instated to help preserve the stability of TheLab.

Option 4 – The Board votes who to instate (7.6) in positions it feels will best benefit the future of the Lab, essentially eliminating the possibility of a severe low-turnout for an election.

5th Order of Business:

Unanimous vote to postpone elections until July, 11 pending discussion about membership feedback to be anounced on June, 23

6th Order of Business:

We will be renewing our lease month to month until a decision has been reached about the move.

7th Order of Business:

The request from the wood shop to vote on several topics was not submitted with enough time to properly review. The board will review and discuss it and vote on the following topics next month. Bylaw 5.1.4 states that anything that is submitted to leadership for a vote must be done so by writing (or email) no less than 7 days prior.

8th Order of Business:

Insurance will need to be addressed due to circumstances around the lease.
